Pest management is being confronted with immense economic and environmental issues worldwide because of massive utilization over-reliance on pesticides. The non-target toxicity, residual consequence, challenging biodegradability these synthetic pesticides have become a serious concern, which urgently requires the alternative prompt adoption sustainable cost-effective pest control measures. Increasing attention in safety has triggered interest approaches through eco-friendly plant-based Botanical pesticidal constituents are effective against myriads destructive pests diseases. More importantly, they widely available, inexpensive, accessible, rapidly biodegradable, little toxicity to beneficiary agents. phytochemical compositions diverse plant species responsible for their varying mechanisms action However, difficulties formulation insufficient appropriate chemical data led low level acceptance globally. Therefore, review seeks highlight status, compositions, insecticidal mechanisms, challenges pesticide usage agricultural production.
